TDS, If you need a 100' mast those two companies are likely your best choices along with

and
"http://www.wenzlau.com/masts.htm"

There may be others but I hope you have deep pockets!
IMHO, you would be better off to hire someone that has an RC helicopter to lift your gear.

TDS,

Try http://www.willburt.com They make good quality pneumatic mast systems here in the USA, and they also offer custom design services as well. I own six Will-Burt mast systems, so I speak from experience. The're mast systems are very well built, and operate flawlessly. But, be prepared to break out the wallet, because they're not cheap.

Floatograph is a good company, easy to talk to, good equipment especially for military specs.

Nice.

I didn't find any pricing info on the site.

Probably safe to presume they are expensive since they are geared for pro/commercial use and not for the average consumer/hobbyist.

A 100' mast will be expensive per foot compared to a smaller mast, especially if you wish to place anything other than a very small camera on top.

The mast acts like a lever and a 95' moment arm creates huge forces on the pivot point of your mount unit. Some of this will be be absorbed by mast flex and tethering can help - but 100' is a seriously high mast unit.

What vehicle is the 100ft mast going on ?
You want a wide wheel base for aq 100ft unit.

The shear size and weight of the mast and mounting may exceed the usual 100Kg (220lb) limit for the majority of vehicles including many 4WD.
Not a structural roof limit so much as a limit to safe cornering and braking.

Thanks Eagle

We make complete systems to a formula
That is developed working with users of the equipment in an industry that use it for the same purposes and in the same way.

The first system was developed for Real Estate photography supplying 2 franchise chains for some years now, all of which required pretty much indentical equipment and all have fairly common work flow and purpose for the equipment.

Now have new customers this year that are industrial users that are not budget concious but mission critical and time critical.
So a formula system was developed for their uses that covers and entire industry unto itself.
They need additional equipment and safety systems with some machine automation.
And an expansive list of additions that comes to more than double the price of the property photographers system at around $30,000 complete.

So now I make the two types of turnkey systems to formula.
I dont do custom jobs outside the formula systems, it would not be a viable business.
Parts of it fit other systems like the cam mount but otherwise all sales are complete systems.

The mast is from Total Mast Solutions in the UK. It was imported to the US and installed on a 2007 Ford E250 cargo van. The van has less than 6000 miles on it.

Right now I have an asking price of $21,500 on it and would like to move it this month if possible. I may take another $1,000 off the price if it can move fast.

If someone wants only the mast, I suppose they can buy the package, remove the mast and sell the van for $8k-$10k. I just ran the VIN and NADA has it valued around those values. But the van also has a decking system with handrails for when you climb on the roof to raise and lower the mast.

Thanks,

Adam
